Malta & Gozo has some of the world's

parts.
Driving is on the left had side. Road signs are
in English and are similar to international design. Experienced drivers
will find Malta and Gozo can be toured in
great safety and comfort.

Fuel Type / Costs: Most rental cars use unleaded
petrol. There is generally only one unleaded grade available in Malta and Gozo. Some large vehicles
may be diesel and this will be advised on rental. Petrol prices in Malta and Gozo vary, but are below
average prices, most cars use small engines with low fuel consumption, and
driving distances in Malta and Gozo are low.
Seat Belts: All occupants must wear seat belt's
children under 12 years are not permitted in front seats. Infants and
young children must be secured in restraints it is in the responsibility
of the driver to ensure that these safety rules are enforced.
Do not leave luggage visible as it will be
stolen and customer will be responsible for glass breakage and lock
damage, Place luggage in the in the boot before parking.

Speed Limits: As a general rule the following
speed limits apply however watch signs for changes in speed limits
(Built-up-areas 45km/h) (Open roads 65km/h).
Never drink and drive as it will seriously affect
you judgment and abilities. You must not drive with a breath alcohol level
higher thank 35 ug/100ml or a blood alcohol level of more than 80mg/100ml.
Breakdowns: If you vehicle breaks down get you
vehicle off the road if possible give adequate warning to other traffic by
using you hazard warning lights, inform Drifter Car Rentals with your
location so breakdown service can be send to you as soon as possible.
Roundabouts: When approaching a roundabout, watch
out for traffic already on it. Give way to traffic on your right unless
road markings indicate otherwise but keep moving if the way is clear.
Mobile phones: Never use a hand mobile phone
when driving.
Stopping and Parking: Do not park or let your
vehicles stand: where there is a parking prohibition, at or within 5 meters
of a road junction, near a bend or the brow of a hill, on a footway, unless
otherwise authorized, on or within 4 meters of a pedestrian crossing, in a
tunnel or under bridge, within 12 meters on each side of any bus stop or
fare stage.
